Art in the Air

My banner is up. It is on the El Camino and Scott st in Santa Clara. It was a fun and challenging project (since I Am not a painter).

I can breathe

A sigh of relief..Open Studios is over, the Saratoga show is hung and now I can breathe. Open studios went very well. Saturday was very successful, Sunday was slower I am sure the combination of Mothers Day and heat played a factor in that.
Now I can sit back process and absorb everything. I have been so busy I haven't gotten to read my magazines and they have been piling up. I just got back into my book The Mercury Visions of Louis Daguerre, which I am really enjoying and almost finished with.
I am ready for something new, something different, to push it to the next level. This year has been amazing so far for me. I can't wait to see what the Summer holds. We have a couple of trips planned in the next few months. Just little week/weekend getaways to southernern California - maybe a couple other places, who knows.

Hawaiian Lumen Prints

Here are a few of the pieces I created in Maui. This Summer, after Open Studios is over and things slow down I hope to work on more pieces.

Ouch my brain hurts

Back from tropical paradise and I had to hit the ground running. I really enjoyed Maui, it was absolutely beautiful. I was able to swim in the warm ocean and float on my back and look up at the clouds. I saw amazing coral reefs, snorkeling for the first time. The colors and textures were very inspiring. I also had a chance to work on some new artwork. I used many native plants to create lumen prints. I did a lot of experimenting with different papers and sun exposure. I am pretty happy with how they are turning out. I will post some samples soon.

Now I am back with just 2 weeks until Open Studios. My jet setting has really put the squeeze on me in terms of getting things done and ready. I set up for the exhibit at Saratoga library this week. I was just interviewed for a feature storey in the Rose Garden Resident, they will be sending a photographer out this week to shoot me in my studio. I am also working on some freelance graphic design work that is due in a week. Ouch my brain hurts, to much to do.
